Snowflake Nails

Let me start off with apologizing for my absence the last few weeks. Things have been pretty crazy with the holidays. First I had some family come into town for Thanksgiving and tis the season for school Christmas plays, get togethers, and shopping.

Anyways, I did this snowflake design a few weeks ago and wanted to make sure I got the chance to share it with you before the holidays were over.

I started off with my favorite base coat Nail Magic "Base Coat Therapy". I then used three coats of Pure Ice "Splash". I probably would have been good with two but wanted it to stand out better against the white of the snowflakes.

I then used Kiss striper in white for the snowflakes. I also placed some white polka dots for the extra snow bits. Finally, I topped it off with Seche Vite.

I didn't get as many pictures of this one as I would have liked, but I hope you enjoyed it anyways! Happy Holidays!

Pink Sideways French

This week I decided to try a Sideways French for the first time. 

I actually think it turned out pretty good. I started out with Nail Magic "Base Coat Therapy".

I then applied two coats of Sinful Colors "Cream Pink" for the base color. Next I used Kiss striper polish in black for the Sideways French design and topped it off with Seche Vite.

This is a fairly simple design, but I actually really like it. I thought about adding something to it, but decided that in this case less was more.

Stripes with Polka Dot Accent Nail

For this week's manicure we have some simple stripes with a red accent and a polka dot accent nail also with a red accent.

I started off with my usual base coat, Nail Magic "Base Coat Therapy".

I then used three coats of Finger Paints "Meet Me At The Met". I probably could have gotten away with two, but decided to err on the side of caution.

I then used black acrylic paint for the stripes on my thumb, pointer finger, middle finger and pinkie. Next I went in with red acrylic paint for the accent stripe.

Then on the ring finger I used black and red acrylic paint for the polka dots.

After I put on the design, I topped it all off with Seche Vite.

I was pretty impressed with this manicure. It lasted seven days chip free which is pretty awesome.

Matte Leopard Print

For today's manicure I would like to share with you a leopard print and french tip skittlette.

On the pointer finger and the ring finger I did a French tip. I started off with two coats of Sinful Colors "Black on Black". Then for the French tip I used Sinful Colors "Gorgeous". I then highlighted the tip with a line of silver glitter using Kiss striper in Silver Glitter.

On the middle finger and thumb I did a leopard print. I started with two coats of Sinful Colors "Gorgeous". I then used black and silver paint for the leopard print.

I then used Wet and Wild "Metallica" and Pure Ice "Beeware" for the glitter accent nail on my pinkie.

I then topped it all off with Essie "Matte About You".

I love the way this turned out. Hope you enjoyed it!

Funky French

For my manicure this week I decided to go for something a tad more on the simple side. It's simple but still very elegant I think. 

Essentially, this mani is a French tip that I jazzed up with some stripes down the side.

I started out with my favorite base coat, Nail Magic "Base Coat Therapy".

Next I used two coats of Wet and Wild "Metallica" for the base color. Then, for the French tip I used Zoya "Giovanna".

After that I went in with Kiss striper in black to add the stripes down the side. I also did a single stripe between the green and silver to add some depth to the design.

I topped that off with Seche Vite to create the finished look.

Also exciting this week: I just got a new photo editor and thoroughly enjoyed testing out all the cool things I can do now!

Nails Inspired by Jeans Embellishment

Today's mani was inspired by the embellishment on the pocket of my friends jeans. I thought they looked so cute I just had to use them as inspiration.

I started out with my usual base coat Nail Magic "Base Coat Therapy".

Then for the base color, I used one of the new holographic polishes by China Glaze "Strap on Your Moonboots". I absolutely love this polish. Originally I had bought another color from their collection, "Infra-Red," but when I went to use it, there was no brush! So I had to return it and that was actually the last bottle they had, so I went with this one instead. 

And I am actually pretty happy with it. I got a picture of it before I painted on the design so you could see the color better, but I will warn you that it's not the best picture because I took it before doing any sort of clean up.

Unfortunately the holographic effect isn't spectacular in this picture. Leave it to me to use this polish when the weather is rainy and overcast for several days in a row!

Anyways, I chose this particular polish because it reminds me of the color of jeans. I then went in with some white acrylic paint for the flower design and polka dots to recreate the embellishment.

I finished it off with Seche Vite, and ta-dah!

Gold with Black Filigree

I have decided to start a blog, obviously. I have a new found love of nail art and I just can't seem to keep it to myself. The solution: a blog.

So, for my first attempt at a blog entry I am going to share with you a free hand filigree design.

For my base coat I use Nail Magic "Base Coat Therapy".

I then applied two coats of Finger Paints "She's A Beaut".

Next I painted on the ruffian and the stripe using black acrylic paint.

Then I mixed some gold paint into the black paint for the filigree design to give it some extra shimmer. The picture is not the best but you can kinda see the subtle difference. The difference is more noticeable in real life.

Finally, I topped it off with Seche Vite "Dry Fast Top Coat" and ta-dah! The final result!
